For the first time in the Annuals category, Pedigree Books will introduce Augmented Reality to its range of Gaming and New Media titles.
The range will be sold as Super Interactive Annuals 2014 and will launch on August 1st this year.
The AR technology will allow consumers to download a free app on to their tablets and smartphones, which will enable them to unlock features such as extended character profiles, extra stories and activities.
The new technology will feature across Pedigree's Gaming and New Media range which includes title such as Annoying Orange, Cut the Rope, Angry Birds, Star Wars and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Matthew Reynolds, publishing and sales director at Pedigree, said: "The introduction of AR to this range represents a very exciting innovation and, although the titles can still be enjoyed as a traditional Annual, offers significant added value for our retailers and consumers.
