Turner CN Enterprises has added five new partners to the UK licensing programme for Adventure Time.
The TV show, which airs daily on Cartoon Network, is a hit. 2.4 million people tuned in to watch it between September and November, and series five will launch in spring 2013.
Apparel licensee Bioworld Europe is on board to produce a range of clothing including hoodies, T-shirts and socks, as well as bags and accessories. Initial product will launch spring/summer 2013, with a full range following in autumn/winter.
Cooneen and Misirli will produce children’s underwear and nightwear, while Dreamtex is making bedding, towels and fleece blankets. These will arrive in autumn/winter 2013, too.
Titan Publishing will produce magazines, collections and annuals. The first issue of the official magazine will hit newsstands in August.
Pyramid International will produce posters and a range of giftware including art prints, canvas prints, stickers, badges, magnets and postcards.
Finally, a direct to retail partnership has been established with cult entertainment megastore Forbidden Planet Ltd. The retailer will produce gift and novelty products set to launch imminently.
Graham Saltmarsh, UK Licensing Director for TCNE, said: “We’re delighted to be growing the Adventure Time franchise with five new partners on board. The property has huge cult and comedy appeal, reflected in its brilliant performance on the channel.
"This is an exciting and burgeoning property for our network, with an appeal that is only set to grow as the new series launches next year.”
