FME grabs Backyardigans

FremantleMedia bags worldwide home entertainment rights for Nelvana property.

Just ahead of MIPTV, Nelvana has awarded the worldwide home entertainment rights for The Backyardigans to FremantleMedia Enterprises for all territories (excluding Canada and the US).

The deal will see up to 60 episodes of the CGI series available internationally on DVD for the first time.

Season one will be available in Japan, with seasons two and three to be offered in a number of territories outside of Canada and the US (where the DVDs are already available).

"Their passion for the brand, their distribution network and their ability to partner with our other licensees will ensure that Backyardigans DVDs are available for children everywhere."

Produced by Nick Jr and Nelvana Studios, The Backyardigans is a musical adventure series aimed at children aged two to five.
