FremantleMedia Enterprises is integrating its gambling division into the main business, following the success of the internal start up established in 2008.

The firm has hired Simon Murphy as head of gambling, and he will be responsible for the online, land-based and mobile gaming initiatives. Murphy has over eight years of experience within the gambling industry, and he will now be charged with building FME's brand presence and distribution of multi-channel gambling related content.

"Now that the business is of sufficient scale, we believe it is ready to be integrated within FremantleMedia Enterprises," said Mel Alcock, CEO EMEA. "We look forward to combining Simon's experience and our expertise in extending major brands into cross platform entertainment."

The gambling division was initially launched as part of FremantleMedia Ventures in 2008.
