2009 has been a positive year for CPLG Sports and many of the brands it represents, and boss Chris Protheroe is confident that this will continue - particularly as there are a number of high profile sporting events on the horizon.

CPLG Sports represents The FA, The RFU, England and Wales Cricket Board and West Ham Football Club among others, for which licensing programmes are all well advanced.

"The loyalty and support of fans has still seen high levels of spend even during difficult economic times," Protheroe explained to

"England's Ashes triumph and the fact that the England football team is enjoying its best ever start to a World Cup qualifying campaign have both helped keep the national teams prominently positioned.

"Longer term, the awarding of the 2015 Rugby World Cup to England means the profile of the sport will remain high in years to come."
