Hallmark and Sony Music are celebrating after the latest Forever Friends CD topped the compilation charts on Mothering Sunday (March 14th).
The success of Mum in a Million follows on from last year's Mother's Day release, Thanks Mum, which charted at number four (number one including Clinton's sales).
The follow up album, Just For You, was released for Christmas 2009 and sold 100,000 copies.
Both these CDs re-entered the top 30 on Sunday, boosted by the launch of Mum in a Million.
"We are delighted with the success of our partnership with Hallmark on the Forever Friends albums," said Olivia Walker, CMG marketing, Sony Music Entertainment UK. "With Mum in a Million now a number one compilation and Just For You a gold-selling release, Forever Friends has not only shown its strength as a brand, but also shown a real potency when combined with our great catalogue of Sony artists."
David Wootliff, licensing director at Hallmark, added: "The success of this third release shows the relevance of the Forever Friends brand with consumers in terms of just how much you care for your mum on such a special occasion as Mother's Day."
