Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products is taking its new Ice Age theatrical experience global, kicking off an international tour this summer.
Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D will feature brand-new footage in an immersive addition to the popular animated film franchise.
The tour will launch this summer at the Central park Zoo in New York City and Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, before hitting San Diego Zoo, Kennywood in Pittsburgh, Alton Tower in the UK, Gardaland Park in Italy and Madame Tussauds Shanghai.
The nine-minute feature will see Scat the saber-toothed squirrel travel through time to visit various iconic venues from the Coliseum of Ancient Rome to the dance floor of Studio 54 and surviving Excalibur to the Titanic as he chases after his precious acorn.
“This newly enhanced 4-D adventure underscores the global success of the Ice Age franchise, which continues to dominate as a fan favourite,” said Greg Lombardo, senior vice president, global live and location-based entertainment, Fox Consumer Products.
“The quality of this experience will set a new benchmark for the industry and is sure to build anticipation for the release of Ice Age 5 in July 2016.
The Ice Age theatrical experience has been produced in collaboration with SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment.
“We are excited to work with Fox and Blue Sky to bring Academy Award quality animation to our guests,” added Mike Frueh, senior vice president, licensing and distribution, SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment.
“The constant surprises in No Time for Nuts makes this one of our most exhilarating 4-D experiences yet.”
