To celebrate the second birthday of popular game download Fruit Ninja, Halfbrick is further bolstering the title with the addition of new characters, new game content and a global giveaway.

From May 24th, the game will welcome new characters Gutsu and Truffles, with players being able to watch their debut in an animated short created by Halfbrick and the People's Republic of Animation.

In addition, power ups including Berry Blast, Peachy Time and Bomb Deflects will be added. These can be obtained by spending Starfruit, which is the new Fruit Ninja currency collected at the end of every game based on ninja skills.

Halfbrick is currently touring its home country of Australia to promote the new update and give away free download codes.

A special website has been set up so fans across the world can be introduced to the new characters, check out the action from the tour and score a free download code on the App Store (limited quantity available).

Fruit Ninja can be downloaded through the iTunes App Store for $0.99.
