Genius Brands International has tapped the founder and CEO of Fox Kids as its executive chairman of its Kid Genius Cartoon Channel.
The multiple-award winning children’s and family media executive, Margaret Loesch steps into her new role to provide counsel to the firm’s new channel president, Deb Pierson.
The move has been detailed as part of the company’s ‘aggressive growth plans for its rapidly expanding platform.’
Loesch brings four decades of success in all phases of children’s broadcasting and family entertainment. Her proven track record for overseeing successful content has lead to the development of iconic children’s series such as Smurfs, My Little Pony, Power Rangers, X-Men and more.
“We are extremely fortunate to have the dean of children’s broadcasters, Margaret Loesch, expand on her role as a board member of Genius Brands International to join the Kid Genius Cartoon Channel as its executive chairman, given her outstanding background in creating and building successful kids’ networks,” said Andy Heyward, chairman and CEO of Genius Brands.
“As founder and CEO of Fox Kids Worldwide, she stewarded the company until shortly before its sale to the Walt Disney Company for $5.4billion and in her career, she has repeatedly generated success time and time again.”
