Genius Brands appoints new VP of consumer products

Industry stalwart, Lloyd Mintz boasts over 20 years in the licensing arena.

Genius Brands International has appointed a new vice president of consumer products.

Lloyd Mintz will now head up the division for the global brand management company and will report to Stone Newman, president of global consumer products.

Newman joined the company in July and will work with Mintz to build a comprehensive global consumer products programme for brands including Baby Genius, Secret Millionaires Club, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.

Additionally, Newman and Mintz will manage licensing programmes for properties under GBI’s wholly owned subsidiary, A Squared Entertainment.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lloyd to the team. He is a seasoned executive in development and licensing, and brings a strategic and conscientious approach to building meaningful retail programmes,” said Newman.

“He has solid experience in all aspects of the licensing and retail industries and a strong network of potential partners who we look forward to introducing GBI brands.”

Mintz added: “I am excited to develop worldwide programmes for GBI’s brands and am confident the company’s mission to provide ‘contetn with a purpose’ will resonate with both our consumers and retailers alike.

Mintz boasts over 20 years of experience in licensing, merchandising and new business development. He has also worked at Hasbro as VP of domestic corporate licensing.
