A further 26 episodes of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers are to be made by Big Bocca Productions and Italian animation studio Rainbow S.p.A, after the show continued its successful run across Europe, this time in Germany.
Distributed by m4e in the territory, Huntik reached a market share of 8.2 per cent of the general audience (aged 14 to 49) on RTL II, ranking above the broadcaster's average rating.
In the target group for boys aged six to 13, Huntik reached 60,000 viewers, with a market share of 28.7 per cent at the first broadcast, averaging 21 per cent in its first week.
The series has also been successfully launched in Italy on Raie Due, in the US on CW4Kids and on Jetix in the UK. The broadcast of season two is now being earmarked for the end of 2010.
"The great success of Huntik, especially in Italy and in the US, drove us to conceive and realise the second season," said Iginio Straffi, owner of Rainbow S.p.A. "The new episodes of Huntik will explore new territories all around the world, travelling through the continents."
