Geronimo Stilton heads to China

Leading Chinese children's publishing house to roll out 60 titles in series.

Milan-based Atlantyca Entertainment has signed with one of China's leading children's publishing houses - 21st Century - to publish 60 titles from the Geronimo Stilton book series.

The Geronimo Stilton books are available in over 33 languages and have sold more than 16 million copies to date in Italy alone, with 30 million being sold worldwide (of which 9.3 million are from Scholastic (English language)).

21st Century will publish an initial ten titles, due to launch during the local Chinese Festival for children, just before the Children's Day on June 1st 2009. The first titles will include Attack of the Bandit Cats, The Mona Mouse Code, Four Mice Deep in the Jungle and Surf's Up Stilton.

The books will be published throughout mainland China.

The Geronimo Stilton IP was originally launched in early 2000 by leading Italian publisher Edizioni Piemme through a series of books. The simple format of excitement, adventure and humour was an immediate hit.
