GIRLS MONTH: Dora boosts Alligator Books

Firm shifts over 250,000 activity books during Q4 2008 alone for Nickelodeon property.

Alligator Books will be heading into next month's London Book Fair on a high after enjoying strong sales with its Dora the Explorer activity books - notching up sales of over 250,000 copies in Q4 last year alone.

The firm's Dora range - which includes colouring books, activity books, sticker storybooks, magic painting books, wipe clean books and magnetic activity books - is now the most popular pre-school book licence in the Alligator portfolio.

"We are delighted with our recent publishing sales figures for Dora the Explorer," said Neil Rodol, commercial director at Alligator Books. "In spite of the current economic downturn, Alligator Books has seen a significant sales increase in publishing and our value for money products are booming."

The firm is now looking to use the upcoming London Book Fair to drive awareness of its portfolio, as well as striking deals with new and existing partners.

"We feel that Alligator Books is perfectly placed to capitalise on the current trend for arts and crafts that has bloomed during the credit crunch," added Andrew Rabin, MD of the firm.
