Jetix Europe has revealed an increase in revenue and operating profit for the year ending September 30th 2007 - with the CEO putting this down to the firm's continued focus on 'long-term strategic objectives'.
Revenue for the period was up slightly by two per cent to E166.4 million, while operating profit grew by 33 per cent to E24.5 million. Channel subscribers increased 3.7 million to 50.5 million households, while net profit attributable to shareholders grew from E13.9 million to E37.3 million.
Paul Taylor, chief executive officer, said in a statement: "Our continued focus on our long-term strategic objectives has delivered strong growth in our profits. Throughout this year we have concentrated on putting in place the key assets that will drive the business forward in the future. We are committed to creating the very best content for our audience."
Jetix Europe has continued to strengthen its ties with The Walt Disney Company, developing new series together, while High School Musical will be airing on Jetix in selected markets.
Pucca and Ying Yang Yo have performed well for Jetix across Europe, complementing the success it continues to enjoy with Power Rangers.
In terms of consumer products, Taylor said that the master toy licence has been sold for a second series of A.T.O.M Alpha Teens on Machines, Pucca is performing well - particularly in France - and consumer products rights have been secured on major new shows.
Power Rangers - which is outsourced to Disney Consumer Products - is its most succcessful franchise, with revenues growing by over 15 per cent. The UK remains the most important market, although strong growth was again seen in Italy and Germany, as DCP expanded the presence of the brand into these markets.
