Granada Ventures is working with Specsavers to bring back cult Thunderbirds characters to TV screens in a new advertising campaign.
Virgil Tracy is joined by his arch enemy, the Hood, in a high speed chase through snow-capped mountains. Virgil comes out of the tunnel into the glare of the sun and his Specsavers Reaction lenses immediately darken to protect his vision. The Hood is not so lucky and is blinded by the bright light, crashing into a mountain.
Specsavers creative director Graham Daldry worked with director Tobias Fouracre to film the new TV ad, which includes the original Thunderbirds March music.
"Thunderbirds is the ultimate cult series, and it's very exciting to work with Specsavers on bringing two such well-known characters to a whole new generation of viewers," said Martin Binyon, licensing manager at Granada Ventures.
