Licensed cake specialist Green's has kicked off a new baking initiative - fronted by Melanie Sykes - aiming to encourage a sense of caring and sharing across the UK through baking.

Green's Tuesday will include a fundraising element by inviting keen bakers to make donations from cake sales to children's charity NSPCC.

"We created the concept of Green's Tuesday to provide a platform to communicate our brand values of sharing and caring through baking, at the same time as encouraging the nation to raise money for charity on an ongoing basis," explained Sara Gardner, category development controller, home baking, Kerry Foods.

"We look forward to growing Green's Tuesday into a household name and developing 'Tuesdays' into a day that the nation comes together to care, share and raise money for charity through baking."

Green's licensed portfolio includes Barbie, Dennis the Menace, Dora the Explorer, Tom and Jerry, Noddy, Thomas the Tank Engine, Scooby-Doo and In The Night Garden among others.
