Australian children's entertainment company SLR Productions has sealed a co-production deal with German's kids' broadcaster Ki.Ka on animated pre-school series, Guess How Much I Love You: The Adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare.
The adaptation of the classic will be 52 11-minute episodes. The Walker Books-published picture book has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.
"Our creative team are honoured to be bringing to life the animated version of the Nutbrown Hares and their friends," said Suzanne Ryan, executive producer at SLR. "We know the show will have a special place in the homes of German and Australian children, as well as the world over."
Sebastian Debertin, head of fiction, acquisitions and co-productions at Ki.Ka, added: "In German speaking territories there is a huge fanbase. One is obviously kids and, on top of that, an additional fanbase of adults who like to give the book on Valentine's Day and similar occasions. We are sure we are co-producing a hit."
