Guess How Much I Love You to reach adult audience with new jewellery line

A new jewellery range based on Guess How Much I Love You will open the brand up to an adult audience, according to Walker Books.

Boo Gallery founder Louise Skinner has partnered with award winning artist and sculptor David Meredith to create a line of silver and gold jewellery items spanning bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings featuring Big and Little Nutbrown Hare from the bestselling picture book.

The range will launch exclusively in the Boo Gallery and on www.boo.uk.com before Christmas, and will be available with high-end retailers from Spring 2015. 

“Guess How Much I Love You has the unique ability to appeal to all ages," said Anna Hewitt, head of licensing at Walker Books UK.

"The brand found a natural home within infant apparel and gifting, but has equal resonance with adult audiences. The story has been adopted in many different ways over the years, from a book at bedtime, to a reading at a wedding or a gift on Valentine’s Day.

"The new jewellery line with Louise’s Boo Gallery and David Meredith reflects our ongoing strategy to develop discerning partnerships to explore innovative and creative ways to take this special brand to new audiences. Both Louise and David share our commitment to quality and creativity and we are honoured and excited to be working with them on this.”

Louise Skinner, owner of Boo Gallery added: “Jewellery is my true passion, most of the work I stock at Boo Gallery is jewellery, both my own work and other designers.

"Everything is handmade and fits the characterful nature of the gallery. I also stock beautiful sculptures by the artist, and my friend, David Meredith and his range of hare sculptures has always been a customer favourite. David and I have known each other from our school days and we’ve always wanted to work on a range together and so I took David’s hares and turned them into contemporary jewellery pieces which seemed to fit perfectly with the Guess How Much I Love You story and appeal to customers buying jewellery for a loved one.”

2015 will mark the book’s 20th Anniversary and alongside new product lines due to roll out from September 2014, a year long programme of anniversary activity will take place throughout 2015 supported by an extensive marketing and PR campaign.

Celebrations will begin at BLE with a special guest appearance from author Sam McBratney who will be attending the champagne reception on the Walker Books Stand (G10) on Tuesday, October 7th.
