Guru Studio has signed new home entertainment and music deals for the Emmy-nominated preschool show Justin Time in the US, Canada, Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland.

In the US and Canada, Cinedigm has acquired the home video and TVOD rights to all 52 episodes with three DVDs scheduled to arrive in Spring 2014 at both major retailers and specialty outlets.

Cinedigm holds digital content aggregation deals with platforms including iTunes, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.

“We are thrilled to acquire the hugely popular and Emmy-nominated Justin Time,” said Mark Kashden, senior vice president of acquisitions, Cinedigm.

“Highly rated on PBS Sprout and NBC Saturday Mornings, the series entertains and delights preschoolers while educating them about animals, science and nature.

"We know parents and kids alike will be thrilled to view this great program anytime and anywhere via DVD and all digital platforms.”

Elsewhere, in Germany, Edel AG will distribute DVD’s and CD’s across a range of markets.

This five-year deal was brokered by Guru Studio’s German licensing agent Super RTL Licensing.

"Super RTL is very excited to support the Germany-wide launch of the Justin Time DVDs and audios,” added a spokesperson from Super RTL.

Justin Time currently airs in over 70 countries on broadcasters including Sprout and NBC Kids (USA), Disney Junior (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and Italy), Disney Channel (CEMEA), Discovery (Latin America), Discovery Familia (Spanish USA), Netflix (US, UK and Latin America), Nick Jr. (France), Tiny Pop (UK), Hop! Channel (Israel), Mediacorp (Singapore), and True Visions (Thailand).

“We are sincerely happy that all major platforms in the US, Canada and Germany have now embraced Justin Time, and feel very fortunate to have top-notch representation in these key markets," said Mary Bredin, vice president, Guru Studio.

"We are confident that these partnerships will bring the world of Justin Time to a brand new set of kids.”
