Hallmark to extend Country Companions brand

Bright and Beyond eyeing up moves into new categories for sentiment property.

Bright and Beyond Licensing is to launch a new style guide for Hallmark brand, Country Companions, with a view to extending it into a number of fresh categories.

The guide has been developed with the design team at Watermelon Europe, with the initial artwork being launched at Brand Licensing Europe, followed by the full guide in Q4.

Already a popular greetings card property, Bright and Beyond has also extended Country Companions into publishing. Egmont is due to produce ten books a year covering adult gifting, children's picture books and a baby range.

The focus now will be on categories such as outdoor, gardening, food, gifting and apparel.

"From a licensing point of view, Country Companions has absolutely massive potential across an exciting range of consumer products and the new style guide illustrates this perfectly," said BGI MD Vicki Willden-Lebrecht. "The brand is already generating huge excitement in the licensing community and we are looking forward to developing an innovative and varied programme that maximises the potential of this timeless classic."
