Harry Potter spin-off trilogy to hit cinemas in 2016, 2018 and 2020

Warner Bros has dated its big screen adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The studio is making Rowling's 128 page novella into a big screen trilogy, with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movies landing in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

The Hollywood Reporter states that the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie will mark Rowling’s screenwriting debut and will be directed byDavid Yates, who helmed the final four films in the Harry Potter series.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them boasts creatures and characters as recorded by the book's fictitious author, Newt Scamander, and the fictitious title first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
