Hasbro and Paramount Pictures have set up its top talent writers room, to help develop Hasbro's cross-property onscreen universe, featuring brands G.I Joe, Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K. and ROM.

The new group includes some of the most notable writers across Hollywood, including Akiva Goldsman, who will oversee the writers room on behalf of the two companies, as well as taking on the role of executive producer for all films.

Other writers include Lindsey Beer, Michael Chabon, Cheo Coker, Joe Robert Cole, Nicole Perlman. Jeff Pinkner, Nicole Riegel, Geneva Robertson and Brian K Vaughan.

Brad Grey, chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, said: "Paramount and Hasbro have partnered on many successful films in the past, including the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises.

"Bringing together a writers room of this caliber is a bold step for our partnership, and one that we believe is critical for building these brands into new, successful franchises for the future."

Hasbro’s film label Allspark Pictures also has plans to develop films based on its cross-property universe, with Brian Goldner, chairman, president and CEO of Hasbro, and Stephen Davis, executive VP and CCO of Hasbro, serving as producers.

In addition, Josh Feldman, co-head of storytelling at Hasbro, will take on the role as co-executive producer.

"Together with Paramount, we have assembled a team of incredibly talented creative minds and storytellers to continue to help tell the rich history and narrative behind this interconnected cinematic universe, and we are thrilled to be working with Akiva Goldsman again to guide this process," added Brian Goldner.

"We are also excited to partner with Paramount to produce the films, as we've had a strong and collaborative partnership since our first Transformers movie in 2007."
