Hasbro is joining forces with toy company HTI for the relaunch of the classic Tonka brand.
A new segment called Tonka Town will be reintroduced, including modern vehicles, play-sets and characters. The new line will expand beyond construction with emergency service themes.
In addition, the company will unveil Tonka Classic, with the original line of steel trucks getting a makeover.
"We're extremely excited about reintroducing Tonka in Eurppe with this fantastic new range," said James Walker, VP of brand licensing Europe at Hasbro. "Boys everywhere dream of being a policeman or fireman, so we anticipate that the addition of emergency services to the traditional construction-inspired play will resonate in a big way with youngsters."
Key items in the Tonka Town line will include a Police Station with jail, a convict, police officer and police bike; a Tonka Town Fire Station with two firefighters and a fire ranger vehicle; and a Tonka Town Dump Truck with boulders, construction worker and warning sign.
Products will be available from autumn/winter 2013.
