Haynes Publishing is celebrating chart success with its special compilation album - just ahead of its 50th anniversary this week.
Haynes: Ultimate Guide to Rock climbed to number five in the UK top 40 compilation album listings, having been released on June 20th to tie in with Father's Day.
"We are absolutely thrilled with these results and so pleased with our partnership with Sony Music," Iain Wakefield from Haynes told Licensing.biz. "Haynes and Sony worked very closely to produce an album which really reflected the Haynes brand - right down to the miniature Haynes Manual to Rock Music, which is included in the 3CD album.
"The team at Sony have been a joy to work with and completely immersed themselves in the Haynes brand.
"As a book publisher, we have had recent success with music-related subject matter including Haynes Manuals on the Fender Stratocaster guitar, as well as the Les Paul guiatr and also piano. Our book range has expanded enormously in recent years and this will be reflected in our future licensing and merchandising strategy. Watch our in the autumn for manuals on the Enterprise from Star Trek, as well as a manual on the inventions of Wallace and Gromit."
Wakefield continued: "Haynes is 50 this Friday, so our success with Sony couldn't be better timed. We are very proud to be celebrating our 50th. Haynes has come a long way since John Haynes wrote his first book on building an Austin 7 Special."
