He-Man and Skeletor tackle Dirty Dancing for X Factor TV spot

Masters of the Universe characters He-Man and Skeletor followed up their Moneysupermarket.com campaign with a two-minute advert during last night’s X Factor.

The pair recreated one of the most iconic dance routines in cinematic history, using choreography from Dirty Dancing to the song (I’ve Had) The Time of my Life.

The new TV spot, signed by Born Licensing, Masters of the Universe licensor Mattel and Dirty Dancing licensor Lionsgate is the follow up to the Fame campaign launched in March this year.

“The last campaign was so well received that everyone involved wanted to get back together and take things to the next level,” said Born Licensing director, David Born.

“We added an extra layer of nostalgia by bringing in Lionsgate and the iconic choreography from its classic Dirty Dancing.”

Jo Gunn, category manager at Mattel, added: “We are very excited to see the launch of this next advert, seeing He-Man and Skeletor team up again in a fun campaign that will have everybody talking.”

The campaign premiered on Sunday, September 3rd during the X Factor with a two-minute full length advert.
