The Jim Henson Company's third party licensing banner - HIP Brands - has signed up a number of new international agents for its Psyclops property.
The multi-platform brand - which features a range of one-eyed characters which embrace the world of music, art, dance and technology - was first introduced back in 2009 as a mobile application.
HIP Brands will be showcasing the property at Brand Licensing Europe next month as it looks to move into categories including toys, designer plush, apparel, home furnishings, stationery, gifts, social expression, personal care, publishing, food and electronics.
Among the new international agents are Spain's Carmen Arize Licensing, which will handle the brand in Europe (excluding the UK, France, Israel and Russia); Alphanim for France; Wild Pumpkin International for Australia; and Segal Licensing for Canada.
"The Psyclops brand is driven by its compelling graphic design and humour," said Melissa Segal, SVP of global consumer products at The Jim Henson Company. "The brand also uses new media platforms and viral marketing to engage with and expand upon its strong consumer base, all of which is very appealing to international brand partners."
