Historic Royal Palaces builds fashion line with Hobbs

The AW17 line has been inspired by the Baroque Palace at Hampton Court, the Crown Jewels and the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.

Historic Royal Palaces is continuing to build its licensing deal with retailer Hobbs, with the debut of an AW17 collection.

Three designs have been developed, which are inspired by the Baroque Palace at Hampton Court, regalia from the Crown Jewels and items from the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.

A dress, suit and coat have been created with the Baroque Palace at Hampton Court in mind, while a jewel dress, jewel skirt, regalia blouse and regalia dress have been inspired by the Crown Jewels.

Finally, a royal military sweater, royal military dress, courtiers blouse and courtiers dress have been designed in the likeness of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.

“We are delighted that our continued licensing partnership with Hobbs has been so successful in the UK and the US, as well as reaching international audiences via online,” said Emma Saunders, head of retail business development at Historic Royal Palaces.

“Autumn’s collection really highlights the vast scope of inspiration available from the iconic Crown Jewels to the magnificent Baroque interiors of Hampton Court Palace. Spring 2018 enables Hobbs to leverage one of our most exciting conservation projects in recent years, tapping into a theme which will benefit from wide media coverage.”

The range will roll out online and in stores in the UK, as well as in Hobbs’ US store from September 4th 2017.

Meg Lustman, CEO of Hobbs, added: “Working with Historic Royal Palaces has enabled us to launch a range of clothing that also appeals to the American audience.

“The spring collection launched in Bloomingdales to huge success and in 2017 was the leading collection for the opening of our first US store in Connecticut.”
