Hit Entertainment is to develop the Diary of... line of bestselling books into an animated TV series.
Told from a child's point of view, Diary of a Worm, Spider and Fly (working title) is an animated show geared towards three to five year olds. Incorporating the humour of the books, the series will also be backed with a coordinating science curriculum, with a focus on earth science developed alongside. New characters will also be introduced.
"We are delighted to option Doreen Cronin's Diary of a Worm series," said Karen Barnes, EVP, development and production at Hit Entertainment. "The bestselling books have captured children's imaginations and teach science concepts with humour and simple sophistication. Kids can easily relate to the characters and stories and the format will lend itself well to the small screen."
