Firms extend existing TV deal to cover licensing of key pre-school properties in territory.

Hit Entertainment has secured a further deal with Turner International India - extending its existing TV rights agreement to include licensing representation of such brands as Bob the Builder and Thomas & Friends.

The pre-school shows have been building up brand recognition in India having launched on Cartoon Network, and are now amongst the top rated properties across kids TV networks in the territory.

Along with the TV rights, Turner will also manage the licensing rights for Thomas & Friends and Bob the Builder across key categories including apparel and accessories, stationery, toys and games.

Antonio Huab, VP Asia at Hit, said: "We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Cartoon Network India.

"India is an important and growing market for Hit and Cartoon Network offers a perfect broadcast and merchandise licensing partner for Hit's world class properties."

Jiggy George, executive director at Cartoon Network Enterprises India and South Asia, added: "Pre-school is a critical segment for us both on the Network and on the licensing front."
