Hit Entertainment is readying for the launch of the latest Thomas & Friends DVD special.
Misty Island Rescue will hit retail on Monday October 11th.
Retail tie-ins from Thomas licensees will accompany the launch, including dedicated Trackmaster and Take n Play product from Fisher-Price, a buildable set from Mega Bloks and new wooden engines from RC2.
A major marketing and PR campaign will also back the DVD release. TV, print and online advertising is planned, and will be complemented by the distribution of 40,000 promotional binoculars through a range of outlets and at Thomas appearances at Drayton Manor Park, Day Out with Thomas events and at Legoland, Windsor.
A teaser trailer has been posted on YouTube, while Practical Parenting magazine is set to feature Misty Island advertising and editorial. Hit is also staging a blue carpet premiere at the Vue cinema, Leicester Square on Saturday October 2nd, with additional screenings taking place at 65 Vue cinemas nationwide that weekend.
