Fisher-Price has agreed with Hit Entertainment and Tomy to acquire the exclusive distribution rights to Thomas & Friends Trackmaster for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, effective from June 1st 2010.

The agreement with Tomy Europe grants Fisher-Price an exclusive licence to Trackmaster earlier than originally planned. Its addition will build on the firm's existing agreement with Hit, which will see the company launch a range of die-cast vehicles and play-sets from January 2010.

Tomy will continue to sell pre-school Thomas & Friends products until December 31st 2010.

"This is terrific news for everyone connected to the Thomas business," said Peter Byrne, executive VP, international consumer products at Hit. "2010 is a landmark year for the brand and we look forward to having Fisher-Price firing on all cylinders in the important second half of the year. Tomy have been an exceptional partner in helping manage this transition."
