Having Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in its stable has certainly paid off for Hornby this year, with the firm revealing a healthy pretax profit for the six months to September.
The company, which makes Scalextric slot car racing sets as well as the model trains, has a licensing deal with McLaren, the team Hamilton reached second place with in his rookie season.
Hornby also owns the licensing rights to Hamilton's former team-mate, Spanish double world champion Fernando Alonso.
The firm made a pretax profit of £2.68m in the six months ending September, on revenue up 37 per cent to £24.6m. It raised its interim dividend eight per cent to 2.7 pence.
