Horrid Henry joins ITV's Text Santa campaign

A competition will give children the opportunity to design a hat to feature in an episode of Horrid Henry

Novel Entertainment is participating in ITV’s charitable Text Santa campaign again this year, with its Horrid Henry property.

Horrid Henry will feature in the build up to the final live show, airing December 20th on ITV, in a competition which gives children the opportunity to send designs for a hat, one of which will be chosen to feature in an episode of Horrid Henry.

Activity sheets featuring Horrid Henry and his friends have been distributed in schools around the UK, encouraging children to participate in Text Santa by organising donations for baking, making or donning festive hats at school.

Members of the public are also invited to get involved by wearing a hat to work on the December 20th and donating a pound for Hattitude Day.

Six charities have been chosen to benefit from this year's donations: Age UK, Barnardo’s, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.

The campaign was launched on the December 5th and the live show will be presented by Ant and Dec, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Christine Bleakley and Paddy McGuinness. 

“Text Santa is a fantastic campaign reaching out to vulnerable people within communities across the UK, a hugely important goal for children to be familiar with and involved in," said Mike Watts, co-producer for Novel Entertainment.

"We are proud to be able to let Horrid Henry lead the way on the younger generation’s engagement with these charities this Christmas.”
