Independent producer Novel Entertainment has struck an international sales and distribution deal for the Horrid Henry TV animated series with Little Bird Rights.
The 52x11-minute 2D animated show will be available to buyers at MIPTV later this year. It was commissioned by CITV in the UK and has most recently sold to Disney Channel in France. Sales have also been brokered with ZDF Germany, RTE Eire, RUV Iceland, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway and YLE Finlands. Deals are currently being negotiated with South Africa, Turkey and Portugal.
Little Bird Rights, a division of the international indie producer of children's comedy Uncle Max, will be looking to secure further international sales at MIPTV.
"Horrid Henry is a huge priority for us and we are thrilled to be working with Little Bird to extend the reach of the show worldwide," said Mike Watts, MD of Novel Entertainment.
Judith Howton, head of sales at Little Bird, added: "Our distribution partnership with Novel is a major development for Little Bird Rights; until now we have concentrated exclusively on distributing Little Bird's own output. We're excited to become part of Horrid Henry's great success and further adventures."
With sales fast approaching 11 million books in the UK alone, Horrid Henry is available in 27 countries worldwide and has been translated into 22 languages.
