Howard Litton, SVP managing director of Nickelodeon UK, is leaving the children's broadcaster to pursue personal projects and new opportunities in international media.
Litton has been with Nickelodeon for some 15 years and has been a key architect in its growth from a single channel into a multi-tiered network of six channels and a host of digital services.
Steve Grieder, EVP, Nickelodeon International and programme sales for MTV Networks International, will oversee day to day operations of Nickelodeon UK until a new MD is announced.
Litton, meanwhile, will now develop personal creative projects and look at new opportunities.
"I've had an amazing time at Nickelodeon UK, but after 15 years of fun and hard work at the best kids' entertainment brand in the UK, it's time for a change and for new challenges," Litton explained. "I've got some exciting projects in the pipeline, but before that I'm looking forward to spending several months at home with my wife and two little girls."
Litton first joined Nickelodeon in 1994 as acquisitions manager and was promoted to director of programmes in 1997. He became MD of Nickelodeon UK in April 2007.
