HTI snaps up Barbie brand

Firm teams with Mattel to create role-play toys for number one fashion doll brand.

HTI has added to its already considerable licensed portfolio - securing a deal with Mattel for Barbie role-play toys.

The multi territory deal covers the UK, Eire, Eastern Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, the Nordics and the Middle East. The firm is also currently in discussion with Western Europe distributor partners for Iberia, Italy, GAS, France, Greece, Benelux and Scandinavia.

The range has been designed around two key role-play themes - 'doll'icious' food preparation and 'glamtastic' glam up.

Each product features a unique Barbie & Me element which enables girls to involve their Barbie doll with on-theme accessories for additional play value.

The lines are due to launch in autumn/winter 2013, and will be supported with TV ads and other marketing.

"This deal further underlines our strength in the international market as a passionate creator of innovative toys, bringing excitement to kids everywhere."
