Rainbow Designs is looking to raise further awareness of its products for The Very Hungry Caterpillar, teaming with The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia to run special competitions during the current live tour.
Ten large Very Hungry Caterpillar plush toys will be used as competition prizes in the national and regional press throughout the show's UK-wide tour.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites - hosted by KW & NB - is on tour until the end of November and takes in locations such as Hull, Stafford, Richmond and Southend.
The show features The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud and The Mixed-Up Chameleon stories retold on stage with puppetry in black light.
"We are delighted that Eric Carle's classic tales are being brought to life in such a creative, vivid and imaginative way and it's great to support the tour by donating the plush Caterpillars," said Anthony Temple, MD of Rainbow Designs.
"The tour is fantastic for raising awareness of The Very Hungry Caterpillar brand and retailers can look forward to even greate demand for toys and gifts featuring this iconic and timeless character."
Theatregoers can also purchase Rainbow's Very Hungry Caterpillar merchandise, including the soft toy Caterpillar.
Lucy Wood, general manager of KW & NB, added: "We are extremely grateful to Rainbow Designs for the donation of the large plush Caterpillar and, so far, there has been a fantastic response to both the competition and Rainbow's merchandise on sale at the theatres."
