Big Bocca Productions has said that Huntik: Secrets & Seekers has made its debut on Network 10 in Australia.
Both Network 10 and Southern Cross have committed to seasons one and two of the show, which has been co-produced with Rainbow SpA in Italy.
The broadcast is being backed with a heavyweight TV campaign from Upper Deck, the trading card partner, with a minimum of 180 ads running over four weeks on Network 10. A similar campaign has started on Southern Cross, with 160 commercial spots which kicking off at the beginning of June.
Huntik demonstrations and beginners tournaments are also due to be held at Supa Nova Pop Culture Expo Sydney in conjunction with Dark Moon Fair.
Later on in September, Upper Deck will be releasing the Huntik toy line to retail.
The first Huntik DVD to roll out in Australia and New Zealand will arrive in August - again supported with a TV campaign - while Big Bocca's licensing agent in the territory, Merchantwise, is now pitching the brand out to licensees, with deals due to be announced shortly.
"We are delighted to get such great coverage in Australia from both our broadcast partners Network 10 and our licensees, Upper Deck and Madman," said Marie-Laure Marchand, MD of Big Bocca. "We trust that these massive launch campaigns will boost Huntik's profile in Australia and New Zealand and will set the ground for a long lasting successful brand."
