Norwegian children’s entertainment producer CreaCon Group has appointed Spainish distribution specialist Imira Entertainment to handle TV and DVD rights to City of Friends in Latin America, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The deal will see Imira represent two 26 x 10 minute series and two thirty-minute specials of the animated show.
“City of Friends is an authentic and engaging property which has struck a note with audiences around the world, and Imira is proud to be taking it to Latin America and further European markets," said Sergi Reitg, CEO of Imira Entertainment.
"We are ideally positioned to sell properties into these territories, extending their global reach.”
Sky Vision handles TV distribution for City of Friends in territories not covered by Imira Entertainment, and this new deal means that City of Friends has been sold into more than 180 countries worldwide and translated into more than 23 languages.
Global broadcasters now include Channel 5 in the UK, Boomerang and Cartoon Network in the Nordics, France TV in France, Al Jazeera in the Middle East and North Africa, M-Net in Africa, HOP! in Israel and Yoopa in Canada.
