Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has signed a raft of new deals throughout Latin America for its catalogue of titles.
The new deals have been struck ahead of the NATPE 2015 market, during which Imira will be representing a range of Toonz Entertainment properties, for the first time.
The firm has sold Magic Beyond Worlds – a biopic looking at the life of Harry Potter author, JK Rowling – to ChileVision in Chile, while Season Two of Yoohoo & friends has been scooped by Cartoon Network Latin America. The first season of the show will air in Mexico via Canal Once.
Meanwhile, Chilean broadcaster UCV TV has renewed its license for the classic animation, The Smurfs, while Chile’s Novasur has taken up the pre-school series, Vitaminix.
Elsewhere, Horatio & The Plasticines has been sold to the US Hispanic network, HITN, Mexico’s Canal Once, Señal Colombia and Ecuador TV.
CGI feature film, The Living Forest has also sold to Ecuador TV, while Saarl will continue to air on Canal Once in Mexico.
For the first tie, Imira will head to NATPE with a collection of properties from parent company, Toonz Entertainment. These include Rat-a-tat, HTDT – a futuristic take on the Humpty Dumpty tale – Magic Beyond Worlds and animated comedy, Purple Devil.
The Toonz catalogue also includes Speed Racer: The Next Generation.
