Imira prepares for MIPTV

Sales extend distributor?s presence in Spanish speaking territories including Latin America

Imira has signed off a number of deals as it prepares to take a catalogue of new programming to MIPTV.

Cartoon Network Spain has picked up the first season of Iconix’s pre-school series Pororo and ZDF Enterprises’ Wicked Science, one of the first live action shows Imira has acquired to distribute.

Catalonian broadcaster TV3 has bought 64 Zoo Lane and Lazy Lucy while Portuguese public channel RTP has bought Hydronauts (pictured), Pitt & Kantrop, both by Millimages and Rat Man by Stranemani.

Heading to Latin America and RTVC, a public broadcaster in Colombia, has acquired Vitaminix, Millimage’s Pablo the Little Red Fox and Millimaages/Method Films Skyland along with Telescreen’s Miffy The Classics and Miffy and Friends.

Big Picture has picked up the home video rights of Bali, a pre-school series, from producer Planet Nemo, also for the Spanish market.

Christophe Goldberger, head of distribution and marketing, said: “We have a really strong line up for this market with some stand-out animation. These deals signed in advance of MIPTV highlight that our series continue to sell to major Spanish-language broadcasters and we hope to further consolidate our position in this market.”

Among the list of new programmes Imira is taking MIPTV are Tangerine & Cow, Go Go Pig and Rat-Man.
