BBC Worldwide, Ragdoll and Minor Entertainment are teaming up to produce a nationwide live tour for In The Night Garden, the first theatrical venture for the brand.
The show will open for a two-week run on July 17th at Sefton Park in Liverpool. It will then move to London in August and Glasgow in September, with one final location to be announced.
The show will be created in an inflatable touring theatre made up of show domes, with the aim being to recreate the world of the TV show.
"Our ambition has always been to take In The Night Garden into a live environment; our challenge has been to develop an experience that reflects the quality and innovation of the TV programme," explained Neil Ross Russell, MD Children's and Licensing at BBC Worldwide.
"It's a privilege to now announce a truly unique experience inside spectacular show domes with state of the art costumes, props and projections - we believe we've developed something that will wow children and families up and down the country."
In the Night Garden was the fastest growing toy and game licence in its first year. Some 4.4 million plush toy sales have been notched up to date, an average of four sales a minute since launch.
UK books have sold over 2.5 million units, while UK DVD sales have exceeded one million. Outside of the UK, ITNG has been translated into 19 different languages and has been sold into 35 international territories.
