ITV Global Entertainment is planning a number of brand extensions within the publishing sector for several of its franchises.
The publishing strategy will be lead by a number of high profile titles - including Billy Connolly's Journey to the Edge of the World, which premiered last week with a 20.2 per cent share across its primetime slot.
Other recent book successes for the ITV portfolio include Treasures of Coronation Street (Carlton Books), Heartbeat - The Story Behind the Series (Mortons), Numberjacks (Egmont), Trinny and Susannah (Orion) and The Official ITV Sport F1 Guide 2009 (Carlton Books).
"Successful book publishing has always played a central role in all our brand extensions, for both our ITV and independently produced programming," explained Kevin Morgan, content director at ITV Global Entertainment.
"We're currently meeting with publishers to discuss new strategic licences for our primetime and daytime shows across documentary, factual entertainment, lifestyle and sport."
