Dan Gopal has been appointed ITV Studios' new SVP/director of global digital media and home entertainment.

Gopal will oversee ITV’s global home entertainment business and will work with the DVD and TV sales team to maximise digital sales.

He was previously Miramax’s head of sales and operations EMEA. Before that, Gopal worked at the Walt Disney Company, EMEA, where he managed relationships with clients for digital content.

ITV Studios VP and director of consumer products Jean-Philippe Randisi said: "Dan’s experience with both broadcasters and digital platforms will be an asset in helping us to grow in an increasingly platform-agnostic landscape, in which the traditional divisions between physical and digital media and TV and home entertainment have become less relevant for consumers.”

Dan Gopal added: “I am very excited to be joining ITVS GE and look forward to working with the team to expand the number of opportunities for people around the world to enjoy our quality content.

"ITVS GE has an incredibly rich library and is consistently producing innovative new programming that engages with a global audience. We want to offer that audience as much choice and flexibility as possible, so that they can consume our content whatever their preferred format, platform or device."
