JCB seals B&Q deal

Home improvement and garden centre retailer signs exclusive deal for range of power and hand tools.

An exclusive line of power and hand tools will launch in all B&Q stores from this autumn, after the retailer secured a key deal with JCB.

The range will carry a five-year guarantee and will be priced for the mid-market.

"JCB is a world leader in innovation, research and development and this new exclusive range to B&Q will bring high quality engineering performance to the UK DIY power and hand took market and be the coolest DIY tool brand," said John Colley, B&Q's commercial and marketing director.

Chris Wright, director of JCB Consumer Products, added: "The JCB brand stands for quality, innovation, durability and reliability and we are delighted to be developing this exclusive range with B&Q."

The brand licensing programme for JCB began as far back as 1996, with a direct to retail deal with Debenhams on kids and adult apparel.
