Mattel designs, manufactures and markets toys and family products. With the Mattel family comprising of best-selling brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, American Girl, Radica and Tyco R/C, as well as Fisher-Price brands, including Little People, Power Wheels and a wide array of entertainment-inspired toy lines.
The role of the licensing manger is therefore key within the consumer products division. The UK is very much seen as an innovator within consumer products, with many initiatives created in the UK market being deployed at an international level.
The role itself requires an executive who can work closely with licensees and at retail to push new proposals and share the vision of the brand in terms of segmentation, values and vision.
Working within a fast-moving industry where trends can change day to day the successful applicant will need to be a commercially astute and forward thinking individual with a passion to take on new challenges.
The successful incumbent must have a demonstrable experience of the relevant functional area within a fast-paced environment. Applicants must also be able to bring creative and innovative solutions to a challenging situation and not be afraid of implementing them, using passion and integrity.
Exceptional communication skills demonstrating the ability to influence at all levels throughout the organisation are also essential in this role.
