New production, distribution and rights management company Kid Glove has opened an additional office in São Paulo, Brazil.
The firm, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, has opened its Brazil office as an international hub for bringing Brazilian producers and animators together. It wants to create licensing partnerships worldwide.
Brenda Wooding, President of Kid Glove, will head up the new operations in São Paolo.
“This is an exciting time in the Brazilian animation community. Brazil is becoming a hub of new creative animation and production talent whose fresh ideas are sparking interest from broadcasters around the world," she said.
"Additionally, it’s an industry that receives considerable support from the Government through production funds and co-production treaties with a number of countries including Canada, Germany and now the UK.
“Establishing a strong presence in São Paulo is a strategic move for Kid Glove to be a significant player in this burgeoning animation community.
"Our goal is to become a major conduit for delivering Brazilian animation to the global marketplace and establishing successful partnerships both in Brazil and throughout the international production community."
Heather Kenyon, who serves as the lead creative executive at Kid Glove, continues to work out of the company’s US operations in Los Angeles.
