Littlespaceheroes.com is an established kids virtual world with tens of thousands of users from over 100 countries around the world logging on to play every day.
The game’s maker, the Sydney-based Bubble Gum Interactive, expects to have 3 million kids signed up by the end of the year and is creating a cartoon series based on the game to capitalise on the growing player-base.
“Unlike most new cartoon pitches, we already have an active fan-base which is growing rapidly,” said Paul Gray, CMO for Bubble Gum Interactive.
“These fans are very eager to follow the adventures of game characters Ace, Kira and Sparky as they explore the galaxy searching for the “I-wish-I-was-more-evil” Lord Shadowbot and his minions Nyxx, Smashbot and Jean Claude Lizardman.”
The Bubble Gum Interactive team consists of industry veterans with years of experience in television, online and mobile gaming including Graham Cousens, former Creative Director of Disney Channel.
Graham Cousens digital strategy, engagement and production leader, said: “Little Space Heroes is a classic tale about fun, friendship, adventure and discovery.
“It’s awesome to be able to draw on the incredible strength of the virtual world and create something for an audience that’s already hungry for more.”
A trailer for the cartoon will be showcased at MIPJunior, which takes place in Cannes, France on October 6th and 7th.
