KidsCo, the international children’s channel owned by NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment, has signed a deal with Kabel BW.
The deal will see key KidsCo programming shown as part of a new kids TV package, aimed at providing educational but engaging content to children across Germany.
The company announced last week that it had chosen GMC to market content for video-on-demand, linear TV on cable and IPTV in Germany. The continued expansion follows recent agreements for the channel to air in France (Orange) and Greece (OTE).
KidsCo will bring shows such as The Wiggles, Paddington, Corduroy, Heathcliff plus original content including Jass Time!, to children for the start of the German school holidays.
The children’s channel provides three programming zones: pre-school, kids six to ten and family. All zones feature animated and live action content plus family movies, all of which are designed to fit modern audience availability and lifestyle.
KidsCo has expanded quickly across Europe, providing safe, age-appropriate and educational programming to kids everywhere. The firm only selects shows with strong educational values, enabling kids to learn through entertainment.
KidsCo managing director, Paul Robinson commented: “It’s great to have signed this deal and to be working with Kabel BW to bring our programming to more households across Germany.
“This relationship will be key as we develop our presence in Europe. To have such well-established partners on board puts us in a great position and, more importantly, it helps our content reach more homes.”
Klaus Wolf, head of Product Management TV & Content at Kabel BW, said: “As the summer holidays start and we launch the kids package, we are happy to provide programming that entertains viewers whilst providing educational benefits. So we are delighted to be able to provide KidsCo programs to our customers.”
