KidsCo lights the touch paper on new deal

Family channel signs content agreement with leading distributor, Fireworks International.

KidsCo, the joint venture channel owned by NBC Universal, Cookie Jar and Corus Entertainment, is continuing to add to its raft of children’s content, signing a new deal with distributor Fireworks International.

The agreement sees the company acquiring the likes of 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd, Chuck Finn, Even Stevens (pictured), Ocean Star: The Quest, Scout’s Safari Season and Secret Agent Man for broadcast across KidsCo’s Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan African feed from this spring.

Since launch just over a year ago, KidsCo has acquired a significant amount of programming including such shows as The Wiggles, Inspector Gadget, Strawberry Shortcake, New Adventures of Madeline, Babar, Franklin and Rolie Polie Olie.

“KidsCo is committed to delivering fun entertainment in a safe environment from the finest creators of children’s programming from around the world, a promise which is further enhanced by this agreement with Fireworks,” said Paul Robinson, MD of KidsCo.
